The Flat Stanleys

Flat Stanley is a book that 3rd graders at my school in California read. Stanley is a boy that gets flattened by a falling bulletin board. When he wants to go visit his cousin in another state, his parents fold him up and send him in the mail. So...of course, the 3rd graders do a Flat Stanley project where they draw themselves on some tagboard and mail themselves to someone out of state. And lucky me!!! The last class I had at Cullen is now in 3rd grade and I gave them my email address before I left! I ended up with 2 Flat Stanleys to cart around with me and take pictures with. Here are some of our adventures.....
Stephanie's Flat Stanley and I admiring the view (do you see how cute her ponytail on the back is?) at Crooked Creek Ranch for Young Life Snow Camp.

Washington Park...also know around here as Wash Park. This is a huge park that has two lakes, ducks, beautiful gardens, and great walking or biking paths. It always has tons of people running, biking, or walking their dogs. The area around it has really neat older houses too. If I could pick anywhere to live around here, and no other factors were involved, I would pick Wash Park for sure!

At the World Series! Go Rockies!
With Nathan's Flat Stanley in front of Invesco Field where the Broncos play.
With "The Stanleys" at Larimer Square. This is a cool historical section that has shops and restaurants. At night the whole street is lit up by round bulb white lights that criss cross the street all year long. It looks beautiful!
On the steps of the capital building...I'm actually standing on the step that is officially a mile high.
