I Miss My Staff!

Today was the first day of school. I have 46 of the most adorable little "Kindies" as they call them here. They are so cute and little! They are so busy....I am so tired! Overall, it was a great day though. As we went through the planned activities, and as I introduced procedures (for example, it became quite clear that the hand raising procedure needed to be addressed immediately within about 10 minutes of class...), it crossed my mind that teaching is such a cumulative product of your experiences that bring you to where you are now. You just keep learning and growing and you take it all with you and put it into action. I was in a different state, different room, and a different grade, but I was still me "the teacher." Do you see the amazing women with me in this picture? A lot of what I know and who I am as a teacher are a result of who they are and what they know. I am amazingly blessed to have learned from these women. They are not only fabulous teachers, they are fun, kind, sincere, thoughtful, forgiving, generous, creative, positive, and just to great to be replaced by my very nice new staff. What a unique and precious gift to have worked with these gals.

Oh Kara, how wonderfully said. What a blessing to have been "raised" by such great people. As you said, they will always be a part of who you are.

Hang in there as you start this year with your Kindies! I can't wait to talk with you on the phone and hear all the details!

Love,
Jodi
